Greater Than, Less Than, or Equal: Learning to Compare Numbers

Welcome to the swamp, where the alligators reside!!!
just kidding...
We've really been working on greater than, less than and equal with our
super cute little alligator that we used to introduce the concept.
Isn't he the cutest?

These are friendly alligators and they are hungry for the larger numbers!

The < and > signs are tricky!
Turn them into alligator mouths by drawing teeth inside and a nose on top.
Say that this is a numbers-eating alligator, and he is VERY HUNGRY.
He always wants to eat the biggest numbers.
The wide-open mouth side of the symbol will always point to the bigger number.
Say the rhyme: "I'm a hungry alligator; I will eat the one that's greater!" Make it more physical by making an alligator mouth with your hand and lunging at the larger numbers. Dramatic flair and sound effects help!

✽ ✾ ✿... Let's Plant ~ March Family Friday ...✽ ✾ ✿

Happy March!

Welcome to the month of March;  sporadic snow flurries, rain showers,
diverse weather, and the start of Spring flowers starting to bloom.
Yes, March is a very busy month for us!

A planting we will go...  it's peppers and carrots!
We even got to samples the delicious vegetables that we will be growing!
         Yum-mee!!!
We began with a lesson; then we planted seeds,
watered them, and then we will sit back and watch them
grow before we plant them in our PS 154 garden.

After we finished planting it was time
for painting with water-colors!

Planting and watching seeds grow is a wonderful experience for children!
